Stable fungicide formulations through precise colloidal grinding

Fungicide manufacturing presents two challenging factors: a broad spectrum of active ingredients and their demanding physicochemical properties. Particle size, homogeneity and formulation stability directly determine field efficacy, yet many actives are dense and difficult to saturate. These must be incorporated successfully without compromising formulation performance.

PUC colloid mills meet this challenge using precise, high-energy grinding. Whether you produce traditional suspension concentrates, emulsifiable formulations or complex multi-component systems, our mills deliver reproducible results with a reliable margin of process safety.

Ultrafine particle distribution for contact and systemic fungicides

Contact formulations such as sulphur or copper products require extremely fine particles for optimal leaf coverage. Systemic actives—including strobilurins and azoles—also depend on narrow particle-size distribution for stability and bioavailability. PUC mills achieve submicron distribution without agglomeration, ensuring even, active ingredient dispersion. Sedimentation, caking and nozzle blockages are effectively eliminated, and combination products containing actives of different densities or chemistries are processed uniformly.

Trouble-free handling of highly viscous suspensions

Many fungicides are highly concentrated and stabilised with thickeners, producing thixotropic systems that must remain pourable under shear. Our mills are designed for these conditions: they process viscous, paste-like ingredients efficiently and, with intense shear, establish the desired rheological profile. Acting simultaneously as disperser and pump, the mill simplifies the overall production sequence.

Easy cleaning and maximum safety

Product purity is critical in fungicide manufacture. Traces of previous formulations can reduce efficacy or encourage resistance. PUC colloid mills drain almost completely and feature a design free of dead space for rapid, thorough cleaning. ATEX-compliant versions are available for sensitive or potentially explosive formulations.
