Use of Probst & Class Machines in Grease Processing

Grease comprises complex mixtures of base oils, additives and thickeners. To meet the high demands of modern industry, grease must have the same concentration of ingredients throughout the batch, even down to about one thousandth of a millimetre (1/1000 mm).

Grease posttreatment systems are used for the homogenisation and degassing of grease. All common types of grease from NLGI 0 to 6 are processed. Practically all the grease available on the market today with the appropriate quality standard undergoes this processing procedure.

In addition to the actual homogeniser—the PUC colloid mill—we offer complete grease posttreatment systems, which consist of:

• PUC colloid mill for the homogenisation and milling of additives
• PUC filter system with automatic cleaning and adjustable particle size
• PUC degassing system for in-line degassing of solid and semi-liquid grease
  In the degassing process, air bubbles are removed from the product. This step is important to ensure that the product retains its properties longer and to reduce the size of the packaging.
